Worst. Superbowl. Ever.
Feb. 5th, 2006 10:20 pmI was totally rooting for the Steelers until the pre-game show neglected to mention them at all, and then the refs called back two Seahawk touchdowns and then I was so convinced that a fix was on to create the Perfect Jerome Bettis Homecoming Story (Who I like, don't get me wrong, but not at the expense of good football) I got really pissed off and started rooting for the Seahawks who got SCREWED. And then I got really pissed and refused to watch any more. Classic East-coast bias if you ask me.
Anyway, at least the commercials were pretty good. "Magic Fridge" was one of my favorites as was the beer commercial with the bear attack. However, Pepsi? "Brown and Bubbly" is NOT a appetizing descriptor of your product. Bad show. Ick. Also, I was all set up to hate the Pizza Hut commercials, but then they self parodied with Miss Piggy and all was forgiven.
Also, I just want to ask here if anyone noticed what was playing opposite the game on Animal Planet: "Puppy Bowl II." Essentially, it's hours and hours of puppies playing in an enclosure shaped like a miniature football stadium. That's it. Puppies playing. It's running until midnight. I'm a little interested in how someone decided on that as a programming alternative.
In other news, despite assuring me they'd call back "later in the week" I still have not heard from the job I interviewed for.
