Okay... a pound of fat is 3500 calories. So to lose one pound in a week, you merely need to either cut 500 calories a day or burn an extra 500 calories a day. I have cut my diet to 1200-1500 calories a day (except when I go to Seattle. Heh.) AND I'm working out for at least 2 hours every day (3 hours on Thursdays... Thanks Thursday night line up on the CW!) which tends to burn about 1000 calories a day... if what the little calorie counter thingies on the cardio machines are true and if what I read about lifting weights burning about 450 calories is true. I have only missed about 5 days in the past two months. SO WHY DO MY SIZE 9 JEANS NOT FIT YET!? *shakes fist at closet*

Another exercise related conundrum: The eliptical machine tells me that after one hour of working out on it, I have burned 750 calories. The stairmaster tells me that after an hour, I have only managed 440. So how come I sweat more on the stairmaster? Does sweat correlate with calories burned, or does it have more to do with the type of activity?

I went to the library the other day and found a couple of writing books... one of which has some advice (and addresses!) on how to get an agent. And now I am even MORE fired up to get some writing done.... only this stupid bloody volunteer editing job has to get finished first and it's terrible and I hate it and I don't have the footage I need to finish it and ARGH...
