What up with that, Amazon?
Sep. 1st, 2008 09:38 amYesterday afternoon, I logged on to Amazon.com to see when my Supernatural DVDs would arrive. Only, the order wasn't listed! So I went through all my e-mails to find the order confirmation, just to make sure I hadn't dreamed ordering it. I found it, got the order number and called Amazon.
The customer service person said the order had been cancelled. I said I certainly didn't cancel it, so how did it happen. She said she didn't know, but that I could re-place the order.
So I sent an e-mail off to Amazon saying it was a bit of a pain in the ass to re-order things, and how the heck had this happened? I added at the end, that I was leaning towards buying it at Best Buy now, because I'll definitely get it, I'll get it faster, and I get a free toy Impala (missing two doors, but whatever).
So last night, at 3 am, THEY re-placed my order, charged to my credit card. Um, what now? Did I authorize you putting anything on my credit card? NO. PLUS, they won't even start shipping out DVDs until the 8th. So I won't get it until at least the 15th. That's two full weeks after I could get it at Best Buy.
You know what, Amazon? You can offer me a discount, a gift card, an upgrade in shipping. You can send me an e-mail apology. All of those may have alleviated whatever disappointment I had with you. But re-placing my order after I threaten to go to Best Buy? Not cool.
