So sometimes, when I start "eating healthy" I kinda forget to eat my fruits and veggies because they're not in convenient portions with nutrition information on the side. I mean, I eat salads and I'll have a banana or a carrot or something, but I forget about all the diversity in those food groups. So today I went down to the farmer's market (Passing our small town 4th of July celebration on the way-- complete with parade of kids with red white and blue streamers on their bikes and a local band in which one of the instruments was a musical saw) and got probably about 10 pounds of local produce. All of which is now in a gigantic strainer bowl sitting beside me and will probably serve as my lunch and dinner (if it lasts that long). I have cherries, strawberries, two kinds of local blueberries, and sugar snap peas. Then I went to Jamba Juice and got a Blackberry Bliss smoothie because that stuff is CRACK. So much so that even the huge negative of all the blackberry seeds in it can't get me to stop ordering it.
In other food news, the discount food outlet has this special edition Jello that I've never seen anywhere else. There's Margarita, Strawberry Daiquiri, and Pina Colada. (My mom was the one who figured out it was probably for Jello shooters.) Anyway, the Pina Colada Jello is the best Jello, hands down, I have ever had. More flavorful than most and really refreshing. I went back and got three more packages of it. I'm tempted to layer it with strawberry jello.
